A house concert is a chance to experience music in a warm and intimate
environment. Someone opens up his/her home and invites others in to
enjoy a performance by one of his/her favorite musicians. It's a
chance to meet performers and get them to sign their CDs. More than
anything, a house concert is a simple gathering of friends and guests
to enjoy live acoustic music, fellowship, and fun.
House concerts are simple to organize and cheap to produce. All it
takes is 20-30 people chipping in $10 or $15 each. The sponsor
provides the location and audience for the party; and the artist
provides the entertainment, usually consisting of two one-hour sets.
Add to the party atmosphere by asking people to bring a favorite
dessert, finger foods, or a bottle of wine.
